I was hired to be a Linux Systems Administrator - every time I saw a problem that could be corrected, and requested to correct it, I was responded to with 'That isn't a priority right now.'. There are so many things that need fixing, it doesn't matter where you start, just start. 3) If you are leaving for a new position, what makes it more attractive than the one you are leaving? Choose as many as you like Opportunities for advancement Working conditions Location Responsibility Other 4) If you selected "other" above, please specify. Documentation of procedures is one of the most important things for a company to do, second to solid investigation of root cause of issues in the first place. 5) How would you rate the following? (Scale of 1 to 5, Very poor to Very good) a.Performance Reviews [3] b.Opportunity for advancement [3] c.Training received [1] d.Company policies and practices [2] e.Responsibilities [2] f.Hours [5] g.Support by management [1] h.Work load [2] i.Salary [5] j.Benefits [4] k.Please explain (regarding items a-j) I was in a position that offered very little in the way of advancement, so that skews that metric. Salary was good, it's why I started there. Benefits are about the same as anywhere. Responsibility without the authority to make changes there was bad, and training is a joke. The attitude of 'This is how we've done things for years, so it must be best practice.' was pervasive. 6) Did your supervisor: (Scale of A, B, C - Yes, Sometimes, No) a.Demonstrate fair and equal treatment? Every meeting I had with him, I felt like I was supposed to be asking a labyrinth of questions that if I got wrong, I got transported back to the beginning of the maze. 7) What is your opinion of the job you had with us? Little documentation. Little direction. Much responsibility. Little support. Little authority. 8) What were some of the frustrations you experienced in the performance and execution of job responsibilities? Documentation. Support. Responsibility. Yes, one question - why don't you do this questionnaire two month's in instead of at exit?
