Following the instructions here:
https://vladimir-ivanov.net/fingerprint-reader-0a5c5843-broadcom-corp-58200-ubuntu-linux-mint-driver-install/
git clone https://git.launchpad.net/~oem-solutions-engineers/libfprint-2-tod1-broadcom/+git/libfprint-2-tod1-broadcom/
This downloaded about 60Mb to a folder named libfprint-2-tod1-broadcom
Change to that folder.
cd libfprint-2-tod1-broadcom
Then, run these scripts.
sudo sh install.sh python3 debian/update-fw.py
It may take a few minutes to complete. Reboot. In the libfprint-2-tod1-broadcom folder…
sudo pam-auth-update
Enable (use arrow key, space bar, tab to <ok>,return) 'Fingwit fingerprint authentication (using fprintd) with auto keyring unlocking.'
Run fingerprints from OS menu.
Register a fingerprint.
Reboot and test.
