Join a Windows PC to Cyli AD
Pretty straight forward, this is for Windows 10 or 11, others should be very similar
Tap the trapezium, type sysdm.cpl and press 'Enter'.
Give a computer description (it's just a label).
Click the 'Change' button, in the new window that opens;
Make sure the computer name is present.
Click the 'Domain:' radio button and fill out the text box with 'ad.cyli.org'.
Click the 'OK' button, a third window opens;
Enter your username ('user@cyli.org')
Enter your password ('MySecretPass!')
Click 'OK'
Click 'Reboot now'.
Login as 'user@cyli.org' with the domain password.
So, a long time ago, Microsoft put an icon on the task bar (the bar across the bottom of the Desktop1) ) that had the word 'Start' on it, that made it easy for IT-Geeks to say things like “Click on the 'Start' button”.
Alas, it is no longer so… IT-Geeks may still call it a 'Start' button, but that button has been relegated to a monochrome, wordless, shell of it's former self, no curves or high-lights, no personality at all, just four little trapezium, waiting to be clicked…
1)
The Desktop, in this case, is the expanse of computer stuff across your monitors
