Sometimes you need to edit line-art text to make things easier to understand for someone, this does it nicely!

sudo apt install aewan
Keys Quick Reference

Legend                               │  Colors
^ means the Ctrl key and % means     │  TAB    bring up color dialog
the Alt key. Thus, ^A means          │  %P     pick color from cell
Ctrl+A and %A means Alt-A.           │         under the cursor
                                     │  %Z     apply color to cell
General keys                         │         under the cursor
^X,^Z  fast horizontal movement      │
^O     open a file                   │  Mode toggles
^S     save file                     │  INS    toggle insert mode
                                     │  ^G     toggle line-drawing mode
Layers                               │         (0-9,|,- will draw lines)
^W     go to next layer              │  ^P     toggle composite view
^Q     go to previous layer          │
^L     bring up Layer Manager        │  Others
^A     add layer (defaults)          │  ^E     edit document metainfo
%A     add layer (specify)           │  ^C     quit program
^D     add copy of current layer     │  F1-Fn  show menu
^R     rename this layer             │
