Back up the Voicemail Server

DO NOT EVER POWER OFF THE VOICEMAIL SERVER

  • Insert the system rescue CD in the CD drive, close the tray.
  • Shutdown the applications on the Voicemail server, then restart it.
  • It should restart running the SystemRescueCD, press Enter to run the default session, after about two minutes, you'll be dropped to a root prompt.
  • Type; lsblk -fo name,fstype,mountpoint,size and press enter, verify that you see a 40GB /dev/sda1 and a 150GB /dev/sdb1
  • Type; mount /dev/sdb1 /mnt/floppy and press enter.
  • Type; Date=$(date +'%Y-%m-%d') and press enter.
  • Type; partimage -z 1 -f 3 -odb save /dev/hda1 /mnt/floppy/Voicemail-${Date} and press enter.

When this completes, it will drop you back to a command prompt.
If there were any problem, you'll be told so, otherwise, continue.

  • Type; shutdown -r now and press enter.
  • When the screen goes dark, press the eject button on the CD drive and eject the disk, the server should continue to boot normally.
